Roy Gillett BEd (Hons Ldn)

A full-time astrologer since 1976, Roy has studied, taught and advised clients world-wide. He was Chair of the AA from 1994 and became President in 1999. He has played a leading role in organising national and international astrology conferences since 1980. Roy published daily astro-diaries between 1978-90 and now writes the Working with the Planets mundane column in the The Astrological Journal. His book Astrology and Compassion the Convenient Truth makes vital statements on the role and potential benefits of astrology in the 21st century. He has also written A Model of Health, Zen for Todays Living and The Essence of Buddhism. He has studied the astrology of financial markets, supports Astrolabe and Solar Fire astro-software, has appeared widely on the broadcast media and liaises with Ofcom. He also liases with English Heritage regarding Stonehenge access.

Nick Campion PhD, DMSAstrol.

Nick has been a student of the stars since 1965. A former President of the AA and the Astrological Lodge, his first love is the past, and trying to work out how we got to where we are now, a question which is usually without an answer. He began to study the history of astrology while he was an undergraduate, on discovering that, while astrology was once central to western thought, none of his tutors seemed to think this was interesting. Nick is course director of the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales, Lampeter (formerly at Bath Spa University), www.lamp.ac.uk/sophia.

Wendy Stacey Wendy Stacey, BA, MA, Dip LSA.

Wendy has been practising Astrology since 1989, and started teaching in 1991. She is now the Principal for The Mayo school and teaches for the London School of Astrology and the Astrological Lodge of London. Wendy’s passion for the past decade has been exploring correlations between childbirth and astrology and is currently completing a PhD at Southampton on childbirth methods. Wendy joined the AA council in 1999 as Treasurer and has been Chair since 2002. She is also a property developer and proud mother of two.

James Brockbank, BA, MA, Dip WESA, QHP, QPMA. .

James lives in London and is a graduate of Oxford University, Bath Spa University, the White Eagle School of Astrology and is a qualified horary and medieval astrology practitioner. He has been studying astrology for over ten years and he has a particular interest in medieval and Hellenistic techniques. James is currently working on a PhD in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at Bath Spa University College.

Glenda ColeGlenda Cole

Glenda began her study of astrology in 1981. She is chair of the Suffolk Astrological Society, a long running astrology group based in Bury St Edmunds. Glenda has had articles printed in the Astrological Journal and Transit. She has lectured at various local groups and at the 2006 AA conference, where her subject matter caught the eye of a reporter from the Independent newspaper. One of Glenda's main roles on the AA Council is that of Local Groups Co-ordinator, to which she brings her long running experience and passion for promoting local astrology groups.

Chris Mitchell BSc (Hons), MA.

Chris is a consulting astrologer who teaches astrology at the Bristol School of Astrology, helps run Arcturus Rising, Bristol's astrology group, and is keen on promoting astrology at a local and national level. Chris is a regular speaker at many local groups and conferences, and has appeared on local radio and in the local press. He's also active in astrology's online communities and moderates Node-o-Rama, an online forum for astrology students. As a computer programmer by day, he's also had a number of ephemerides published in the UK and Japan, and worked with DAV, the German astrological association, to make their database available online. He has a Diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos, and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. Chris's role on Council is as Advertising Manager and helping to promote the Astrological Association.

Frances Clynes BSc, MSc, MA.

Frances began learning astrology in classes at the Irish Astrological Association (IAA) in September 1987, and became a committee member in 1988, and secretary in 1989. She teaches astrology in Dublin where she also gives lectures and organises seminars, and has also given talks in Bath, Bristol and London. She was awarded the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology in 2007, is currently working on a Ph D at the University of Wales at Lampeter, where she is a part-time tutor at the Sophia Centre. She is currently finishing her Diploma from the Faculty of Astrology Studies. Frances's job on the AA Council is looking after the website.

Christine Chalklin

Christine grew up with astrology, as both her mother and grandmother were enthusiastic students.  Working professionally for over 15 years, she now combines astrology with coaching and business development.  Christine offers her clients an alternative view point and a fresh perspective for themselves and into the potential of their businesses.  She is also passionate about helping people to find and to re-discover their gifts and talents and also to tune into the optimal times for action and success.  With her new and innovative brand of business support she is currently providing self-development and teambuilding seminars for many different types of businesses nationally and internationally.  Having just recently joined the AA council, her role is still evolving!

Amanda Jarrold

Amanda has been practising astrology for eight years and is a consulting astrologer. She is a committee member and Treasurer for the Bristol Astrology Group, Arcturus Rising.
Amanda has a Certificate from the Faculty of Astrological Studies and is currently finishing the Faculty Diploma. She lives in Bristol with her husband and two children.
