May Day!! May Day!! There’s an interesting T square involving the first of 2 New Moons in May. The New Moon at 11 Taurus on the 1st is the focal point with Mars conjunct Neptune in Aquarius in waning square on one side and Jupiter in Leo waxing square on the other. May Day 2003 will bring out the demonstrators but with Neptune defusing the Mars energy it could be a much quieter May Day than recent years. An article in the Evening Standard 17 April said, "anarchists are hoping to recruit schoolchildren to help in May Day chaos and protests." Mercury (in the 10th in London) exactly quincunx Pluto (in the 5th) on the day could see some youngsters bunking off school to raise hell but they’ll probably just have some fun. Venus in Aries trine Jupiter, sextile Mars/Neptune will probably keep things from boiling over. ‘Course, the Full Moon 16 May is a Lunar eclipse at 25 Scorpio (Sabian symbol—‘Penetrating power of reality’). In London, Venus just risen in the last degree of Aries and Mercury nearly on the Taurus ascendant. Talk about fixed energy. Anyway, keep an eye out for the business chiefs (see below), crying in their beer, Chiron sits on the MC in semisquare to Uranus in the 11th (misery loves company) along with Mars, 52 minutes past it’s conjunction with Neptune in Aquarius, still opposing Jupiter in Leo but this eclipse is almost completely unaspected so it’s likely that more than one stand-off will be making news. Then, there’s a Solar Eclipse at the second New Moon on 31 May at 10 Gemini. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth might be the battlecry, but while everyone’s busy voicing their opinions will anybody be listening? So, it’s eclipse season…who gets hit? Umm, Turkey’s Jupiter at 25 Scorpio (had it’s 5th major earthquake on May 1st New Moon) with transit Saturn on it’s natal Moon. Palestine (1994), New Moon at 10 Taurus opposed it’s Jupiter in the 4th, North Node 24 Scorpio (conjunct Pluto) gets the Lunar Eclipse 16 May and the 31 May Solar Eclipse hits it’s Venus exactly square natal Saturn! Zimbabwe (1979) New Moon 1st May hits natal Mars, Solar Eclipse on it’s Sun, in Zimbabwe’s 1980 chart it’s natal Uranus in the 10th gets an exact hit on 16 May and the Solar Eclipse on 31 May = Moon/Venus. Nicaragua (1839) 1st May New Moon on Sun 10 Taurus conjunct MC and Lunar Eclipse 16 May on natal Venus (transit Pluto sits on natal Neptune in the 2nd of 1979 Sandinista chart). Bolivia (1825) Moon 10 Taurus, Asc 25 Scorpio! Also Brazil, various points, Cuba’s (Communist) Jupiter in the 2nd (looks interesting…Castro’s getting old and pissing off his citizens). North Korea’s Ascendant is 25 Scorpio! ‘Bout those nuklear weapons? Fat Cats Get Set to Diet!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh, loved that front page headline in the Observer on 27 April, ‘Crackdown on ‘fat cat’ riches’ as Mercury went Rx in Taurus…bet I’m not the only one who was delighted to read the business headlines everywhere about the industry bosses who being held bang to rights by furious company shareholders…anything to do with the North Node moving into Taurus? Rewards for improved profits make sense but those ‘golden parachutes’ that pay £millions for failures on their way out the door have always baffled and pissed me off. Reality has hit (see Sabian symbol for 16 May eclipse)—those enormous payoffs to departing directors look like becoming a thing of the past, at last. Jupiter in Leo went S/D in April square the Moon in practical Taurus. Uranus moved into Pisces and Mars breezed into Aquarius (power to the people?) after a lightning visit thru Capricorn, the something for nothing culture is wilting…fast. 3 cheers (or 6 even) for the shareholders who’ve had enuf—but for some time now so little in return for their investments—they’ve finally found the courage to turn the tables on the ‘masters of the universe’ who take, take, take. Good on the little guys. Much more, no doubt, when the May 16th eclipse in Taurus/Scorpio nails down more greedy execs. About Face Fashion as Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius
show themselves on the catwalk bigtime. Fashion this season is
either flowery, floaty and romantic (Pisces) or Martial combat uniforms
(as Venus moved thru Aries on the catwalk)—and this is just the women’s
attire. The Uranus Neptune mutual reception goes on for years—and happily
retro-any year is perfectly acceptable too. Wear what you like,
buy it where you want (including Oxfam) and you’re sure to be in style
someplace…don’t worry about Trinny and Susannah (England’s new self-appointed
style gurus), they’re entitled to their opinions(and they’re got plenty
of ‘em) but they have nuthin to do with my wardrobe. Saddam’s gone (bye, bye) but where, maybe somebody could work some horary magic and gi’ us a clue. His birthday celebration in Tikrit was a muted affair compared with the lavish productions of previous years but the fact that there was any celebration at all gives pause…is he still holed up in his hometown? It’s the only place they noted his unhappy returns of the day. He’s supposed to be making a speech soon—that should be interesting, transiting Neptune’s opposite his natal Jupiter Mercury conjunction in Leo and transiting Jupiter’s about to give all that some wellie. Saddam: 28 April 1937, 8.55 BAT (-3), Tikrit, 34 N 36, 43 E 42, Asc 5 Cancer? Commonly used dirty data. Those May lunations were difficult, so will June’s be any easier? Hmmm, sorta but not a lot. The Full Moon on 14 June at 23 Sag exact is conjunct Pluto, opposite Sun widely conjunct Saturn just rolled into Cancer. This is where I do my ‘don’t buy property to speculate, buy it to live in’ thing. I don’t expect property prices to crash but Saturn in Cancer is a no-brainer innit…prices will stabilise (whew) during the next couple of years—anyone still hoping a killing will be very disappointed (and not a little stupid). There’s Pluto with the Full Moon in the 4th house along with Chiron in Capricorn. And Uranus in Pisces does trine Saturn but it squares Mercury and Venus in Gemini in the 9th. If you don’t have to fly that day leave it out, heck, even gettin to work that day looks like a real drag. I do wonder what this June Full Moon will offer us regarding improvements to transport in this country—something, anything—would be good but Mars square Mercury doesn’t look helpful. News from Singapore, Israel, Iceland and Iran. The New Moon on 29 June at 8 Cancer picks up the property theme for a change conjunct Saturn and Mercury in the 7th (London), trine Uranus and Mars in Pisces in the 2nd…interesting! Libra’s on the MC, no doubt this when we hear about some major partnerships forming, breaking up, falling apart, exploding? Tricky stuff.
