Urania Trust Publishing Grants
The Urania Trust now has a policy to offer grants towards publication of important books or material that would otherwise struggle to find a publisher. The Trust's website is currently being updated but will soon include details of the publication grants programme and how to apply for a grant.
Grants made to date have been contributions towards the cost of publishing:
1) The papers given to the Sophia Trust conference held at Bath Spa university in June, 2003.
2)
Katarche for the Company of Astrologers.
3)
Working with Astrology (new edition) by Mike Harding and Charles Harvey
4) The papers to be given at the University of Kent's conference
The Imaginal Cosmos: Astrology, divination and the sacred taking place in October, 2004.

I've been sent a book called
Igniting Soul Fire: Spiritual Dimensions of the Bach Flower Remedies by Gaye Mack. There's not been time to read it thoroughly, but there seems very little astrological content, apart from a mention of Edward Bach's equation of his Remedies with astrological types and elements. However, there is much in here for those who are interested in the use of chakras and Flower remedies in personal, spiritual and soul development. Letter printed in the Guardian 30th March:
Five out of 15 living political party leaders, past and present, celebrate their birthdays in the last week of March. Can anyone explain why this week should be so heavily represented? Perhaps it is an advantage to be an Aries.
George Wolfe

Now, it might be true that astrology is right. It might be true that if you go to the dentist on the day that Mars is at right angles to Venus, that it is better than if you go on a different day...............But if it is true, then it ought to be investigated. Why? To improve it. If it is true, then maybe we can find out if the stars do influence life; that we could make the system more powerful by investigating statistically, scientifically judging the evidence objectively, more carefully.........You may laugh, but if you believe (it is true), then you are responsible to investigate it, to improve its efficiency and to make it satisfactory...
-US physicist and Nobel Laureate Richard P Feynman, in a lecture to fellow scientists at the Galileo Symposium in Italy 1964.
Finally, another quote, from the late Peter Ustinov:
It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.
