Welcome to this issue of Transit. You will have noticed that it is a little late - apologies to anyone who has been anxiously awaiting this issue. Hopefully, you will find it worth the wait. Nick Campion's Mediawatch returns with this issue. Please keep sending your contributions to Nick. Laura Boomer-Trent provides us with a review of this year's conference accompanied by some photographs kindly provided by Glenda Cole. Peta High updates us on the Faculty's new schedule of classes and Garry Phillipson returns with The Scrying Game, this time taking a look at Saturn, Bush and the USA. Please contact me if you have any thoughts about this in time for the next issue of Transit. Garry also updates us with comments on Gunter Sach's Astrology File and wants to let readers know that there is a new page on his website at http://www.astrozero.btinternet.co.uk/gauquelin.htm which discusses the problems of testing astrology and offers a link to Suitbert Ertl's paper, Gauquelin planetary effects brought down to earth? On Geoffrey Dean's outmanoevering stubborn facts, which many of you will find of interest. If you haven't before visited Garry's website you can reach the front page here Astrology in the Year Zero David Fisher's Data Section and Musings of a Yorkshire Astrologer
again appear. My thanks to Anthea Head and Jan Westerveld, who both pointed
out that an incorrect chart was published in the last issue for Elizabeth
I. As Jan pointed out the adjustment for the change in calendar had already
been made with the data and the computer software automatically repeated
the adjustment. The correct chart appears below. I have written about the Nebra Disc in Archeologists Unearth German Stonehenge and Pat Harris updates us with news about the Research Group for the Critical Study of Astrology, based at Southampton University. I have been made aware that a number of you have been having problems when you try to print Transit directly from the web. Please bear with us, we aim to change the design of Transit for the next issue to rectify this problem. It would be helpful if any of you who have experienced problems with Transit could contact me and let me know in detail what your problem is so that we can try to address it. |
