Andanda was born at 5:20 pm on 21st December 1953 in Auckland, New Zealand and died as the result of a fall at around 2:53am on 23rd October 2005 in London. Below is the text of a tribute presented by his brother Mischa, at his funeral on 17th November 2005. Further tributes by friends and colleagues appear in the AA Journal January 2006 edition.
"All your life's activity sprang from the same inner source. Everything you did carried the same value and purpose.
There is no distinction, when we look at them now, between the four main achievements of your life: the achievement of spiritual enquiry; the achievement of the study of astrology; the achievement of the appreciation of music; and the achievement of the mastery of computers.
The twelve-year-old boy who lay awake at night calculating in his head the actual positions of the planets - and then had those calculations confirmed the next morning after consulting published astronomical tables - is the same person who played superior rock'n'roll guitar as well as any that was recorded by your beloved Rolling Stones; or who devised mathematical procedures merging empirical science and intuited points in time to advance the application of astrology; or who sat, with great psychic energy, in the midst of a spiritualists' circle; or who contributed to the research and development of an aircraft engineering company with all the knowledge and commitment of the dedicated computer professional.
You are everywhere in the places of your achievement. You are walking in Mount Eden and Kohimarama, in Auckland; you are walking in Toorak and South Yarra, in Melbourne; you are walking in Collaroy and Bellevue Hill, in Sydney; you are walking in Hampstead and Palmers Green, in London. Forever in Palmers Green."
More tributes and photos appear in the January 2006 edition of The Astrological Journal.
