The Astrological Association Library

The AA Library is an extensive archive of books, periodicals and research papers dating from the 18th century onwards.

The Astrological Association Library

This unique resource is housed at two venues. Both are maintained as reference libraries, to which AA Members have access by appointment.

Our main library is housed just over the Devon/Cornwall border. It contains chiefly English-language books and the AA’s own magazine publications. For details of the catalogue, queries, and appointments to visit, please contact the Association’s Librarian Trudie Charles.

The AA Archive is distinctive in character from the main Astrological Association library. It is housed in Newport, South Wales under the expert care of Philip Graves, an experienced astrological archivist and historical researcher. These very different types of printed reference materials, with Philip’s own extensive library are detailed on the AA Archive page, alongside contact information on making arrangements to visit.

Pre-loved books for sale

Every year the AA Library collection is swelled by donations from members past and present. Many books donated are duplicates of titles already held, thus giving rise to an ongoing surplus of pre-loved books. In recent years these books have been offered for sale at AA Conferences where they have proved a popular attraction. However, this has meant that only Conference delegates had the opportunity to buy these books, all of which are offered at bargain prices. With this in mind, it has been decided to list the surplus books on the AA website to extend the opportunity to astrologers far and wide.

The pre-loved books listed are available by mail order via the Librarian. Please send your enquiry to Prices typically range from £1 to £50, plus postage, according to condition and rarity. Books will be sold on a first come first served basis. We advise you not to delay your enquiry, as what is listed reflects the number currently in stock.
