Aquarius Severn: Exodus and Hallelujah: the astrology of Bob Marley and Leonard Cohen
A talk with Christine Cleere

In this talk we shall explore the lives, work and influence on wider culture of two extraordinary musicians and personalities through the lens of astrology: Bob Marley and Leonard Cohen.
Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer-songwriter on the Caribbean island of Jamaica, to a white father and a black mother. He sold more than 20 million records and became an international superstar of reggae music, a genre that he helped popularize with his distinctive voice and style. He was a Rastafari hero who expressed his spirituality and Jamaican identity in his songs.
Leonard Cohen was one of the most iconic Canadian artists of the 20th century. A sage, mystic, bohemian and romantic, he built an acclaimed body of literary work and a revered career in pop music. In his poetry, novels and music, he constantly probed the human condition, exploring themes of love, loss, death, and religion.
Christine has had a lifetime interest in the esoteric and mysterious; she is an astrologer, animist, shamanic practitioner, teacher, celebrant, ritualist, and Druid. She trained in astrology with the CPA, MISPA and Chris Brennan’s Astrology School. She holds courses and workshops on the Celtic Mysteries and shamanic practice through the ancient myths of the islands of Britain and Ireland. She is a qualified funeral celebrant and studied Magical and Shamanic Consciousness at the University of Sussex.
