The Astrology of Three Great Artists
A Zoom Webinar with Wendy Fey, Pamela Armstrong and Kris Lee
Organised by the Aquarius Severn Astrology Society, this webinar will feature three talks. The first, by Wendy Fey, will focus on Vincent Van Gogh and how his self-portraits and his astrology shed fresh light on his unfolding life-story. Pamela Armstrong will be looking at the chart of a Renaissance artist that still holds lessons for us today as we live through this extraordinary year of 2020; she will also be exploring “the art of the possible and the likelihood of the probable.” Kris Lee will speak about Stanley Spencer (1891-1959) a “small man with twinkling eyes” yet a giant of 20th century art. A war artist in both World Wars, he produced in several styles – detailed landscapes, visceral portraits and neo-primitive works. Spencer remained deeply attached to his birth place, Cookham “a village in heaven”, where he set many of his religious works, such as Christ Preaching at Cookham Regatta. He often painted his wives and lovers, with whom his relationships were idolatrous and complicated
After the presentations, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. You must register in advance for this event.
