Speakers for Local Groups
The following speakers are all happy to give talks to local astrology groups. Please note that the AA maintains this page as a service to local groups, but appearing on this list isn’t an official endorsement of any speaker.
If you are a speaker, and would like to be added to our list, contact our local groups co-ordinator, Christine Chalklin, who will add you to this. Please include your contact details, where you are based, a photo, whether you are happy to give talks online, and what your specialist areas in astrology are – we have a simple text pro-forma speaker form that you can copy and paste into an email, and complete and email to us.

Jessica Adams is the author of the #1 Amazon horoscope list bestseller 2020 Astrology: Your Five-Year Horoscope Guide.
Her other books include 2020 Vision (Penguin) and Essential Astrology for Women (HarperCollins). Her sun sign astrology has appeared everywhere from Vogue in Japan to the Washington Post.
Jessica lives in Tasmania and is available for Zoom or other remote video workshops.
Faye Blake is a counselling astrologer and therapist who also uses astrology in business. Her practical approach described in her book Vocational Astrology: Finding the Right Career Direction has made Faye a sought-after speaker internationally. She runs The Amsterdam School of Astrology and holds an MA in Cultural Astrology and Astrology. Main topics include: vocation, siblings, astrolocality, Ceres, Huber Age Point, business astrology. She can give talks on most astrological topics.
She also runs apprenticeship programs which are described on her website, which also has some free resources.
Faye is happy to travel anywhere when we are allowed so long as it is easy to get to with public transport from an airport. And of course online is also an option anytime.
Gill Dorren has studied astrology for over 35 years, and has been a member of The Astrological Lodge of London for just as long. Gill has worked on their committee and was Vice President during their Centenary year. She has given many lectures on such topics as The Precession of the Equinoxes, The Astrology of Death, The history of Uranus, and Astrology and Cosmology. Gill has a particular interest in merging Astrology and Science especially quantum physics, and studied Cosmology at The Open University. She is now researching the journey of ideas of star lore in ancient times, with special emphasis on the origins of the Precession. Gill has given many lectures at The Astrological Lodge of London, and other astrological societies.
Richard Fidler is a South African born professional astrologer currently living in the UK. He has nearly 30 years of hands on experience and combines techniques from both Western and Vedic astrology in his practice.
Richard served as chairman of the Cape Town based Cape Astrology Association, the oldest astrological organisation in South Africa, from 2014 to 2019. He has lectured at astrological conferences in South Africa, India and the USA, and his work has been published in leading astrological journals such as the Mountain Astrologer magazine, the UK-based Astrological Journal, as well as in mainstream publications, such as Business Insider.
Richard is happy to travel, when this becomes possible again, and is also comfortable with presenting on Zoom or other webinar platforms, and can talk on various topics, and specialise in Vedic astrology.
Roy Gillett BEd (Hons Ldn) is the President of The Astrological Association and has been a full-time consultant, writer astrologer and organiser since 1976 and an astrology software adviser since 1988, especially Solar Fire.
He is an astro-finance researcher, international conference speaker, and has published mundane forecasts from 1978, writing the ‘Working with the Planets’ column in the Astrological Journal since 2002. Books include Astrology and Compassion the Convenient Truth; Economy, Ecology and Kindness and The Secret Language of Astrology. His 2017 Reversing the Race to Global Destruction corrects contemporary assumed ‘truths’ and visualises a happier world.
Roy has given talks to various groups, and is able to present in person and online.
Patricia Godden, BSc PhD dipWESA FAPAI.
Patricia is a professional astrologer who gained a diploma from the White Eagle School of Astrology (WESA) in 2007. She is tutor on the WESA Beginner’s Course as well as having her own introductory course, which is available via her website.
She has a particular interest in spiritual astrology and the purpose of the soul. This led to an in-depth study of draconic astrology.
Patricia has written two books: Housing Your Planets: everyday interpretations and spiritual perspectives and Astrology, Crystals and Spirituality.
She gives clear talks on topics that include the deeper meanings of the symbols of the planets, the nodes of the Moon, draconic astrology, the Great Ages, retrograde planets, intercepted signs and the contents of her books.
Patricia lives in Hampshire. She is happy to give talks online and in person.
Margaret Gray, MSW, BA Counselling and Psychotherapy, Diploma Psychological Astrology (CPA).
Margaret is a consulting and teaching astrologer, based in Dublin. She offers birth chart readings to clients all over the world, as well as teaching courses, webinars and presentations at international conferences. Margaret’s work is grounded in a Jungian-based psychological approach. She is particularly interested in the astrology of relationships and is the co-founder of ‘Relationships and Astrology’. Margaret set up Astrology Ireland over 10 years ago, which she now co-runs with John Byrne.
She is also a psychotherapist and works extensively with couples.

Sharon Knight MA, QHP, FAPAI, Sac Dip (Phytotherapy).
Sharon is a professional full time traditional astrologer who has been teaching, writing and consulting with a focus on traditional astrology since 1990. She was Astrologer of the Year 2016 (India), and has given workshops and talks both here in the UK and abroad and had many articles published in the astrological and general press. Sharon was one of the very few astrologers to correctly predict David Cameron remaining as Prime Minister, and Trump winning the 2016 election. She has her own accredited course teaching traditional astrology, is currently Chair of the APAI and edits the quarterly newsletter, and is also a board member of the Astrological Association.
Sharon is happy to speak on all aspects of traditional astrology: mundane, horary, electional, medical, history, natal, ancient and medieval techniques. She lives in East Sussex, close to Lewes, Eastbourne and Gatwick.
Chris Mitchell has a PhD from the University of Leicester on the topic of medieval astrology, is a tutor on the MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology course at the University of Wales, and holds a diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos. He has been actively involved in promoting and teaching astrology since the 1990s, is on the board of the Astrological Association, and has given talks to groups and conferences in Europe and the US.
Chris is happy to give talks either in person or online, and primarily specialises in giving talks on medieval astrology and its techniques.
Martin Sebastian Moritz
Martin Sebastian Moritz is based in Hamburg and Berlin. He started out as actor and dancer, before his life took a turn and he decided to study psychology and astrology. With ten years of teaching Psychodrama under his belt, he now specializes in couple therapy, often helped with astrological readings. He teaches Psychological Astrology and also specializes in Karmic astrology, gender issues and biography work. He has lived for many years in London, his home away from home. He lectures all over Germany and Austria and gave talks at NORWAC, the AA conference and the Astrological Lodge in London. He is also a guest tutor at MISPA. He writes for German and Swiss astrology magazines, as well as for the Astrological Journal. His book Pandora’s box about the mysteries of the 8th house is published in September 2021 at Wessex Astrologer.
Given that he is in Germany most of the time, online lectures are much preferred.
Daniel Sowelu BSc, Dip. Ed is a therapeutic and experiential astrologer, counsellor, primal therapist, group leader, writer and trainer and has been in private practice since the early 1980s. He is a global pioneer in developing the healing and therapeutic use of astrology and is the creator of Primal Astrology Australia, having trained people professionally in this work since 2003.
An eclectic and inspirational speaker who draws from many years of experience, he specialises in working with Chiron and Hygeia, The Outer Planets, Reclaiming the Deep Sacred Feminine (Dark Goddesses), the Shiva Shakti and Sacred Marriage Relationships, Conception to Birth In-utero journey, Experiential Astrology and the relationship between Astrology, Therapy and Spirituality.
Aswin Subramanyan is from Chennai, India, and has been studying astrology since 2011. His background is in Jyotish but since 2017, he has been studying various texts on Hellenistic and Medieval Persian astrology. Aswin’s research and practice is more about integrating all these techniques which results in a nice blend that gives him unique perspectives in studying charts.
Aswin is available to present talks regarding Vedic or traditional western astrology. He is currently working with the usage of Dasa systems in Mundane astrology which fascinates him very much!
Aswin has written a book, Firdaria: Periods of Life which is already available for sale and co-authored another book, Astrology of Moonlight, which is scheduled for release on 8 December 2021 by Llewellyn publications in the USA.
Gaurav Vadehra started his astrological journey in 1996. He specialises as a consultant astrologer and teacher for Natal, Horary, Lunar Mansion, KP and Nadi astrology. His knowledge in spheres of both technical and practical harmonises his approach in teaching Vedic astrology to students from the UK, US and other parts of the world, and he has also presented several successful talks to UK local astrology groups via Zoom.
He also imparts knowledge on Vedic astrology through his Youtube channel updating assorted content frequently.
Julian Venables has been a Faculty Diploma holder since 2010. He has given many talks at his local Brighton & Hove group where he teaches beginners and intermediary astrology via his website.
He has also lectured at London, Bedford, Bosham and Beaconsfield groups, and internationally in Sydney, Melbourne, New York City, Atlanta and in Kolkata in India.
He had ten years experience writing daily horoscopes at Uinterview.com and in 2015 published his first historical novel about William Lilly called The Astrologers’ Apprentice.
In 2021 he plans to publish his first non-fiction astrology book, that he promises will be a fascinating new perspective on astrology. He has recently started making YouTube videos on his channel Julian the London Astrologer, and you can watch his Zoom webinars, sign up for classes or get a chart reading on his website.
