Stellar Video Contest 2025: Celebrating the Changing Skies
We are excited to announce the Stellar Video Contest 2025! Join us in celebrating the successful launch of Stellar, our new astrological magazine, with the theme The Changing Skies. This theme reflects the profound astrological shifts of the Nodal axis entering the Virgo/Pisces polarity, Jupiter moving into Cancer, Saturn into Aries, Uranus into Gemini, Neptune into Aries, and Pluto settling into Aquarius.
Winner’s Announced!
The winner’s were announced at the Astrological Association’s conference and have been published in the September issue of Stellar Magazine.
Eligibility
- Open to members from organisations or students and alumni from schools registered as part of the APAE network (this includes AA members).
- Participants must agree to all contest conditions outlined here.
Contest Timeline
- Start Date: 20th March 2025 (Sun enters Aries).
- Submission Deadline: 22nd August 2025 at midnight UK time.
- Public Voting: AA Annual Conference
- Winner Announcement: 31st August 2025.
Submission Details
- Video Length: Maximum of 90 seconds.
- Accepted Formats: MP4, MOV, AVI.
- Resolution Quality: Minimum 1080p HD Recommended for clear and easy playback. 720p or 4K are also accepted.
- Ratio for the videos can be: 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
- English must be used if voice or subtitles are included. But videos may be silent or accompanied by music.
- File Naming: The file name must match the title of your video.
- Videos should be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and the link supplied.
- Submission Method: You should submit your entry on our competition page at Changing Skies – The Astrological Association.
Content Guidelines
- Submissions must relate to the theme The Changing Skies.
- Creative freedom is encouraged: submissions can be abstract or specific.
- AI Usage: Participants are allowed to use AI tools for video creation, editing, or enhancing elements such as visuals, animation, or sound. However, originality and relevance to the theme will still be key judging criteria.
- Offensive language or imagery is prohibited.
- Copyright violations. All music, visuals, and other elements must be your own, used with proper permission, or AI-generated within the terms of service of the tools used.
Judging Criteria
The evaluation will be carried out in three stages:
1. Initial Selection by the Astrological Association Board
The board will review all submitted videos and shortlist them based on the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Relevance to the theme
- Technical quality
- Content and structure
- Presentation skills
- Ability to capture and hold attention
2. Public Voting
The shortlisted videos will be published for public voting, which will be open exclusively to Astrological Association (AA) members. The number of votes received by each video will contribute significantly to the final decision.
3. Final Decision by the Astrological Association Board
Taking into account both the public voting results and their own assessment, the board will make the final decision on the winners. This process ensures a fair and comprehensive evaluation, combining expert review with community engagement.
Prizes
There will be three prizes for the competition:
- First Prize: The creator of the winning video will receive £250.
- Second Prize: An online entrance to the 2025 AA Conference, plus a one-year online subscription to the Astrological Association (AA).
- Third Prize: A one-year online subscription to the Astrological Association (AA).
The winning video will be featured at the Astrological Association Conference 2025 and in the Stellar magazine, shared with thousands of astrology enthusiasts worldwide.
If submissions exceed expectations, fourth and fifth-place winners may also be selected and published.
If no submission meets the contest’s standards, the prize may be withheld.
Permissions and Rights
By submitting an entry, participants grant the Astrological Association and Stellar magazine the right to share the video publicly through online platforms, and other media for an undetermined time.
General Terms
Participation is free, but only members or students from APAE-registered schools/organisations are eligible, including members of the AA.
Participants must agree to these rules and conditions to qualify.
